New Wild Bird Care Ranges at Glee

Gardman will be launching a completely new British Trust for Ornithology range which introduces many innovative features and there will also be new products on show in the Gardman wild bird care range.

Following the major relaunch of its wild bird care range last year, Gardman is displaying 24 new products at Glee in its own range, including 11 new feeders, Major features in the new range include innovations in suet formats to add value to what is in danger of becoming an increasingly commodity line, exclusive feeder designs, market leading technical innovations and creative use of new materials.  There is also a wider range of prices points from entry point impulse lines through to higher priced statement pieces.

Marketing director Jane Lawler says, “The new products fill in gaps of pricing and reflect more contemporary designs.  With our continuing focus on serving our trade customers, we’re confident that we are well set for the 2011/2012 season.”

The new British Trust for Ornithology premium range, incorporating the new BTO logo, includes new feeds and feeder products, new packaging, new graphic designs and new merchandising features.

The products have two new key benefits.  The scientifically formulated seed mix has been fortified with Nutrivian, a blend of added seed, fruits, insects, oils, minerals, fats and honey. This combination of extra ingredients helps to provide wild birds with a highly nutritious, well balanced diet.

The feeders have added bacterial protection technology: the ‘Feedsafe’ stay-clean biocidal coating prevents the build up of harmful microbes and therefore helps prevent transmission of bird diseases.  The feeders are also easy to disassemble for cleaning and are designed to be as attractive to as many species as possible.

The retail merchandising promotes the wider benefits of the BTO and its Garden Bird Watch scheme.  The merchandising of the bird feeding products and accessories is designed to act as in-store theatre in larger stockists and will include information and support materials such as books, leaflets and bird posters as well as interactive digital/ DVD screens to help consumers identify birds and birdsong.

Commenting on the new BTO range, Jane Lawler says:  “Our association with the BTO is well regarded by both our customers and their customers.  The endorsement and authority lent by the BTO’s accreditation is very important to the success of the range and to our profile as the leading wild bird care supplier.  With this new range we have improved the formulation of the feeds and optimised the design of the feeders to meet the requirements of premium end of the market.”
