Being a good neighbour

Recognising that Gardman is a neighbour in several locations across the UK, Europe and Australia, we will take measures to ensure that we remain considerate to the needs and concerns of the local communities.  We will respond quickly to issues such as excessive noise, traffic or safety and environmental concerns that may be raised by our neighbours.

In the last two years we have raised £5,000 through sample sales for two local charities to our Moulton operation and Thrive, a small national charity that uses gardening to change the lives of disabled people.  We have match funded this amount so therefore a total of £10,000 will be allocated to these three charities.

Through a winter robin seed promotion £7,290 was presented to Greenfingers in March 2010, (Greenfingers is a charity dedicated to creating gardens for children’s hospices around the UK to support children with life limiting conditions, together with their families),and in November 2011 a further £1,000 was donated in cash to the charity.  Greenfingers has also estimated that product donations valued at £5,885 have been received from us.

Gardman also supplies products to local schools and other community charities and in the last two years, £30,000 worth of product at retail value has been provided.

Actions and targets

  • Gardman will continue to support local charities, Thrive and Greenfingers through cash and product donations.
  • Gardman will instigate an ongoing relationship with at least one local school by providing products and staff volunteers.
