Gardman's Magnificent Seven, a unique achievement for teamwork

Gardman’s Andrew Mellowes holds the Supplier of the Year 2008 trophy, accompanied by Sue Sharp holding the certificate.

"A unique achievement reflecting teamwork throughout the company” was how Gardman’s managing director Andy Bestwick described his firm being voted ‘Supplier of the Year’ for the seventh year in succession by the UK’s leading garden centres.

Sue Sharp, director – garden centre development, and Andrew Mellowes, national sales manager – garden centres, accepted the Garden Centre Association (GCA) Trophy on behalf of Lincolnshire-based Gardman at the Garden Industry Manufacturers’ Association (GIMA) Awards Presentation Dinner, which was held at the NEC’s Hilton Metropole Hotel on Thursday, 17 July 2008.

“We are particularly proud because the recipient of the award is decided by the garden centre members of the GCA”, Andy continued.  “Each previous award has spurred us on to work harder and to try to deliver an even better service to our stockists and their customers.  To win for seven consecutive years is a tribute to our management and their teams”.

Andy also gave his thanks to all those garden centres who voted for Gardman, allowing the company the unprecedented distinction of winning the Award for seven years in a row.  “Once again, we will be determined to do even better next year, reflecting and building upon the faith our customers continue to show in us.  We believe that the competitive prices, value-for-money and product innovation which have become our hallmarks will grow even more important to consumers in the months ahead”.
